Supports Normal Memory Function and Reduces Absentmindedness

Bacopin® and Gingko work very differently, yet very synergistically to help improve memory and restore and maintain mental functioning and memory.

Bacopin® is a standardized extract from Bacopa monniera (20% Bacosides A&B) that improves the synaptic brain function.

Gingko biloba extract (24%/6%) is recognized for improving blood flow to the brain, providing antioxidant protection, and improving mental alertness. Rounding out the formula is Phosphytidylcholine, Phosphytidylserine, DHA and Acetyl-L-Carnitine providing additional essential known nutrients for brain function and health. Ginger and Bioperine® aid absorption.

Bacopin®
Bacopin® is an extract from Bacopa monniera standardized to a minimum of 20% total bacosides (A&B). The traditional name for Bacopa monniera is "Brahmi". Traditional application suggests that Bacopin® has a direct effect on improving brain functions, increasing concentration, and in promoting memory functions. Bacosides are believed to play a protective role in the synaptic functions of the nerves in the hippocampus, the seat of memory. Nerve impulses are transmitted across the synapses and their degeneration is believed to contribute to impaired memory and cognition. Clinical studies performed in India confirm that the bacosides can revitalize intellectual functions in children and reduce anxiety in stressed individuals, thereby contributing to improved brain functions.

Phosphatidylcholine
Phosphatidylcholine is a phospholipid that is abundant in nerve-cell membranes and is required for nerve growth and function. Choline, which is a part of the molecule, is used to produce acetylcholine, a neurotransmitter important in cognition and memory. Human studies also suggest that choline may benefit memory. In a placebo-controlled study, investigators gave 61 healthy older adults (aged 50 to 80 years) either phosphatidylcholine-rich lecithin or a placebo for five weeks. By the end of the study, memory test scores of the phosphatidylcholine group improved significantly, exceeding those of the placebo group. Memory lapses in the treated group also reduced by 48%.

Ginkgo biloba
Ginkgo biloba has been used to improve cerebral blood circulation and to protect the nerves against damaging free radicals. Both these effects indirectly help in improving mental alertness, awareness and cognition. People with impaired blood circulation in the nervous system would therefore be particularly benefited. Ginkgo biloba thus helps in the maintenance of healthy nerves and retards degenerative processes1. Several clinical studies have validated the role of Ginkgo biloba in the management of dementia.

Ginger extract
Ginger (Zingiber officinale) has been used to promote healthy digestion. Impaired digestion often hampers mental performance on account of the accompanying discomfort and sluggish metabolism. Contemporary usage has shown ginger to be effective in supporting digestive functions. The extract is standardized for 5% gingerols, the active constituents which enhance digestion and metabolism.

Phosphatidylserine
Phosphatidylserine is a phospholipid that forms one of the large "lipid" molecules that hold the other large molecules in a cell’s membrane systems together. The cell membrane plays a vital role in the entry of nutrients into the cell and phosphatidylserine helps to attenuate these functions, thereby helping to maintain the cell’s internal environment and improving the release of neurotransmitter biochemicals. All these effects contribute to the protective effect of phosphatidylserine on the hippocampus, the seat of memory, and in retarding the loss of connections between the nerves that occurs during aging1. Recent clinical studies validate the role of phosphatidylserine in the management of memory loss associated with aging.

DHA
Docosahexanoic acid (DHA), a polyunsaturated fatty acid also known as an omega-3 fatty acid, has been shown to play a critical role in infant brain development and vision starting from the fetal development stage1. Recent research has also linked the rising rate of moodiness among adults and lack of attention in children to an imbalance in the ratio of omega-3 fatty acids to omega-6 fatty acids (arachadonic acid). The inclusion of DHA in this formulation renders additional support to brain functions.

Acetyl-L-carnitine
Acetyl-L-carnitine (ALC), is a nutrient that helps in brain functions by triggering the release of neurotransmitters, such as acetylcholine. Acetyl-L-carnitine acts on the central nervous system and blocks factors that inhibit the release of acetylcholine. It is therefore helpful in reviving depressed cholinergic systems, thereby promoting memory and cognition.

Bioperine®
Bioperine® is a standardized extract obtained from black pepper, containing not less than 95% piperine. The product is a natural bioavailability enhancer for nutrients and is proven to improve the uptake and utilization of several nutritional supplements, including vitamins, antioxidants and minerals.

Available in 60-tablet bottle size.
